Meet Our Staff

We expect, encourage and support all our staff to continue their own learning and development and ensure staff have in-depth knowledge and understanding gained through continuing professional development and higher level qualifications. We also consider it essential that staff must have the skills, knowledge and enthusiasm to observe, scaffold and plan for children’s learning effectively, identifying and meeting any additional needs.

All of our staff are employed using the ‘Safer Recruitment’ practices, all hold clear DBS checks which are updated yearly via the Government update service

Our Nursery Team are made up of industry experts with the experience and years spent in Early Years second to none in our area, Leigh, Sue and Jo have worked together for over 20 years – they have dedicated their careers to improving and supporting the development of young children. There is really nothing that they haven’t already seen or experienced to help you and your little one settle into our James Farm Family.

Joanna, our Office Manager has been working in Early Years for around 22 years, she will warmly welcome you aboard and help with all aspects of your admission and any other questions or concerns you may have.

Together, we feel and work like a family – which we’ve been told definitely comes across to help with our home from home environment.

Key Person

We create a friendly atmosphere within our nursery, based on warm and caring relationships between our nursery staff and the children in their care. Babies are encouraged to communicate, and their attempts at conversation are valued to ensure they receive an affirming experience, encouraging development, confidence and security. All of our nursery team act as role models within the setting, and recognise that children lead by example and are constantly learning through observation. Common courtesy, mutual respect and patience are demonstrated at all times throughout our settings.

Your child is allocated a ‘Key Person’ within their room, who is responsible for your child’s well being, ensuring your child feels individual, secure and cherished while they are away from home. Your child’s Key Person will liaise with you at the end of each day, keeping you informed of your child’s experiences at nursery and ensuring you don’t have to miss out on any aspect of your child’s day.

Our Nursery staff will observe every child in our care, ensuring your child’s learning and development incorporates their interests and needs. These observations cover all areas of learning according to the framework, as well as records of special moments, like kindness towards others or eating something for the first time, and spontaneous moments, which captures your child’s response to certain activities or events as they happen. All of your child’s experiences at nursery are recorded in their unique Memory book, enabling you to look over your child’s time at James Farm for years to come.
